We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Science Writer and Editor in the Science Innovation, Engagement and Partnerships (SIEP) department.
A highly experienced Science Writer is required to:
- Research and write original copy for publication, online, in print or for broadcast, and in a variety of styles and formats.
- To edit copy from a variety of different sources and prepare it for distribution for general and for specialist readerships.
- To assist with the preparation of reports, press releases and content for communications and public engagement purposes.
- To work with externally contracted designers and publishers
The post holder will be expected to work closely with the Directors and Head of Communications and Public Relations, as well as with science and non-science staff of all grades. They will be expected to be highly organised and have strong interpersonal skills. They will also be responsible for interacting on behalf of the institute with external designers and will have responsibility for checking final copy content.
This full time role has a usual starting salary of between £37,890 - £41,438 p/a and is offered initially for a fixed term of one year with a possible further 2 year extension.
