Working within the Analytical Unit in the Computational and Analytical Sciences Department, we are seeking a Laboratory Technician to assist with sample preparation and performing digestions and extractions of soil and plant materials for analysis. The role will involve the weighing of sample materials, following detailed extraction procedures and analytical grade washing of laboratory equipment.

Scientific Technician - Field Operations

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Scientific Technician to work in our Science Field Operations (SFO) team based at our site near Okehampton in Devon.  The North Wyke site has a focus on grassland systems within Rothamsted Research which is the UK’s primary institute for agricultural sciences sponsored by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). The estate at North Wyke is sited on a 350ha working beef and sheep farm, roughly 70ha of which is under scientific management.

Post-Doctoral Research Scientist (Statistical Genomics)

We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist with a strong background in quantitative genetics, genomics and statistics. Experience with linkage/association mapping and genomic prediction is essential, as is the ability to handle large data sets and develop bespoke analytical pipelines in R. The successful applicant is expected to have a PhD degree in a relevant area, as well as a promising track record of delivering high-quality presentations and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
