A loss function approach to optimal sensor configuration for soil sensing

This is an Agria PhD project with Cranfield University and G's growers The objective of this proposed research is to develop new technologies with which to determine within-field variability of soil properties that are key to crop establishment and performance. In combination with sensor technology (developed under the AgriEPI Centre), this would seek to develop a spatial analytical framework in which to determine the effectiveness of various sensing technologies to determine in field management zones, and what the most cost effective deployment configuration is of these sensors.
